Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
What does a company secretary do in Malaysia?
Every Malaysian company must appoint a licensed company secretary. The company secretary maintains the statutory registers, lodges documents with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), prepares resolutions and minutes, submits annual returns, and advises the board on compliance with the Companies Act 2016.
Can Rafee Syafiq & Co. incorporate a new Sdn Bhd for me?
Yes. We handle the entire incorporation process: name search and reservation, preparation of the incorporation documents and lodgement with SSM. We can then act as your company secretary for ongoing compliance.
Can you take over as company secretary for an existing company?
Yes. We regularly accept appointments as replacement company secretary. The handover involves resolutions for the change, updating SSM records and taking custody of the statutory books, which we manage from start to finish.
